FAQ: Birthday Parties

  • Celebrating a Birthday with us?

    Check out a list of our “Frequently Asked Questions” below: 

     

    What happens if more kids attend then what I reserved in my party size?

    • If more kids come we will add them to the party reservation and you can pay the difference when you settle your invoice at the end of your party. The cost is $10 per additional child over your party package number. 

     

    Do we need to pay the remaining balance due before the party or at the party?

    • Either option is fine. You are welcome to pay the balance ahead of time or you can pay the day of the party. Our online booking system will send you a reminder email 1 week before your party with an option to pay the remaining balance at that time. Remember that your balance may increase on the day of your party if you add additional guests and/or services. 

     

    Is there a maximum of adults included?

    • There is not a maximum of adults. However, there is a room occupancy maximum. A Super Party should not have more than 35 total people. The Duper Party should not have more than 50 total party people. The Super Duper Party should not have more than 65 total party people. Our minimum number of adults is 1 per 7 children. 

     

    Is it ok for us to bring in outside food and drink?

    • Yes. Outside food and drink is permitted for parties. It must remain in the party room(s) at all times. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. If having food delivered, please be ready to receive the delivery. Museum Staff cannot receive deliveries on behalf of guests. 

     

    Can I pick the color of the tablecloths?

    • Our tablecloths are colorful and picked at random.

     

    Can I bring my own tablecloths?

    • Of course! We will place our cloths down to protect the tables, and you are welcome to place your own tablecloths on top! 

     

    How early can I arrive to set up?

    • You may arrive 15 minutes before your party start time to set up. Remember – your party ends at its allotted time and all decorations and guests must vacate the room at/by that time. 

     

    Can I bring in outside decorations?

    • Yes you may. Nothing may be attached to any vertical service. All decor must be free standing. 

     

    Can you blow up my Balloons?

    • Each of our party packages can be customized to add a party activity led by museum staff, balloons, and/or goodie bags for party guests. If you bring in balloons, museum staff can fill them with helium (based on helium & staff availability). A surcharge of $12 per dozen balloons will be added to the cost of your party package. 

     

    Can I have food/decor delivered to the Museum?

    • Yes – as long as the delivery arrives during your allotted party time and you are ready/present to receive it. Museum Staff cannot accept deliveries on behalf of guests.

     

    Do you have a refrigerator for me to use?

    • No – the Museum does not have a refrigerator, oven or microwave available for guest use. Please plan accordingly. 

     

    Can my guests continue to play in the Museum after the party ends?

    • No – your party fee includes entrance to the museum for the 2 hour duration of your party only. At the conclusion of your party, if guests would like to stay and play they may purchase a daily admission pass at the front desk. Museum Members can check in at the front desk for continued play.
