The Chambers County Children’s Museum Board of Directors voted last night to “Raise the Roof” on the old Thrif-tee Grocery Center – or rather to replace the roof on our physical location at 10955 Eagle Drive in the heart of Mont Belvieu, Chambers County.
Built in 1996, the roof (like the rest of the facility) is pushing a quarter of a century in age. TCB Elite Fleet has been hired to replace the 30,200 square feet of leaks with a 60 mil TPO membrane and get us rolling on our facility updates. This project will be under the watchful eye of General Contractor Jake Caylor. Jake is a valued member of our Board of Members and has graciously offered his GC services at a deeply discounted rate. This portion of our building renovations is possible by a generous financial donation from Texas State Representative Mayes Middleton – we at the Chambers County Children’s Museum are so thankful for his commitment to the children of our community!
Once the roof is secure we can move forward with our $3.5mm+ renovations and fully bring to life our mission to “inspire discovery through innovation, hands on experiences and exploratory play”.
