Renovation Update: A Firm Foundation

August 30, 2022

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Keep your eyes on the stars, but remember to keep your feet on the ground.” The Chambers County Children’s Museum is working to form a firm, stable ground (aka foundation) as we continue with our facility renovation. Last week our plumbing and electrical rough in was completed and the floor saw cuts were filled back with concrete. As we waited for the concrete to cure, our HVAC team was hard at work fabricating and installing the spiral duct work for our brand new (and efficient) heating and cooling system. Yesterday, the floor grinding began. This messy and loud process will help to smooth out the bumps in our 28,000 square feet of concrete foundation prepping both the museum space and our tenant space it for the next steps in flooring. For the Museum, flooring will include stained and painted concrete, carpeting, and artificial turf.
